Social Project Renovation School Senegal + Collaboration Blooming.fund
The "Oasis School" in Popenguine, Senegal, located in the Sahel region, is a "school of second chances" dedicated to supporting young people from disadvantaged families. These students often face academic challenges, learning delays, and early pregnancies, which exclude them from public education. Many families cannot afford to finance their children's education.
Blooming.fund will partner to conduct tests on agricultural innovations for desert reduction. Furthermore, of course, we support education with the goal of reducing poverty and hunger.
Ammount needed: 140.000 Euro
The school, founded by 17 dedicated teachers, is a grassroots initiative located 70 km south of Dakar. Over 15 years, the teachers invested personal funds (45 euros annually each) to create an opportunity for excluded children to resume or continue their education. Initially, they worked for meager wages (0.45 euros/hour). Their efforts aim to provide these young people a pathway to a better life and social and professional integration.
The "Oasis School" addresses the plight of children forced to drop out due to poverty, pregnancy, or lack of access to quality education. Without such support, many end up in low-paying, unskilled jobs with no prospects for advancement. The school has achieved remarkable academic results despite a lack of adequate infrastructure and resources.
To further its mission, the school seeks to expand from 5 to 12 classrooms and establish a cafeteria. The estimated cost of these improvements is 139,100 euros in 2025. The initiative calls for donations to help transform the school into a springboard for these young individuals toward a dignified future.
